If you are a creative person at all then Orkney, part of Scotland's Northern Isles, will undoubtedly inspire you with its ruggedly beautiful landscapes and rich history and folklore. Since 2004 I have been living and finding inspiration here. Mainly I like to express my creativity in the mediums of writing and design from photography. As well as blogging and writing articles, I write fiction both as 'Devon Marshall' and as 'Lorna Gibson James', and I use my own photographs and the photographs and art work of a friend to create original and unique items for sale at The Banana Flavored Cat on Zazzle UK so why not pop over there for a gander?
I have an insatiable curiosity about life and interests that range far and wide: ancient history, mythology, philosophy, art, literature, music, the occult and supernatural, and even the extraterrestrial! I enjoy reading and pondering the mysteries of life. At any moment I might be researching Orkney's association with UFOs, or reading Tarot cards, watching a marathon of 'Ancient Aliens' episodes, or reading Roman history. Or I may just be chillin' with my dog!
I shall be using this site to blog ( regularly, I hope! ) about all sorts of everything and anything; life in Orkney, or the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer, dogs vs cats, the supernatural world of our ancestors, whatever takes my fancy to write about. I hope everyone might find something of interest to them.
